Why has my friend been summoned to interview at benefits office and asked to bring her bank statements and details of any other income?

I would say that it is because they suspect she is claiming benefits that she is not entitled to.

Het her to call citizens advice before she goes there so she has an idea of what to expect.
I know someone who had this happen to her and they really backed her into a corner.

pinkpoodle19 is right go to citizens advice first. My friend was called for an interview because they were doing Anon in a small village. Someone reported them and they had to stop selling even though they only made �15 a month.
