According to Expedia your passport must be valid for 6 months after your trip.

According to OAG it must be valid for twice your length of stay http://www.oag.com/NorthAmerica/destination_in fo/dest_info.asp?CountryCode=DO&CountryName=Do minican+Republic&Topic=PVH

The latter is backed up by the Dominican Embassy web site: http://www.dominicanembassy.org.uk/Touristcard .html

So 2 to 1 says you can go - the 2 includes the most authoritative source.
just renew it now and have peace of mind.
I would agree with Dee Sa.
We are traveling to Europe in May and my husband had to replace his passport before we could book because it didn't have six months left. It is not worth the risk.
