Anybody know the old folk song/ hymn used in the closing scene of 'Paths of Glory'???

I found it really heartbreaking, especially as all the soldiers joined in. I know its prob some old German (possibly) folk song but any help would be appreciated.

i have just looked on you tube, i just wrote paths of glory in the search bar and it came up. i have just watched the last scene of the film. and yes it is very touching. audrey

yeah i found out its 'The Faithful Hussar'!

yeah its such a tragic scene! glad someone else liked it too, cheers for the reply. surprised u can see it on youtube, pretty sweet huh?
