It bloody hurt too, and took a lot of self control not to leap around like a big girl. I had my back turned and the other dog went for mine (both on leads), missed, and chomped on my leg too. Winge over.

If the bite broke the skin, it's really important that you determine if the biting dog had been vaccinated for rabies... don't delay!

No, I was lucky there, when I looked down, there was a slobber patch on my trousers but no damage. However when the girl had gone I rolled the leg up and my skin was going dark blue. Surprised me how much it hurt really.
I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt! If it happens again, be sure not to even touch the 'slobber patch' you mention, since this can transmit the rabies virus if present. I'm not alarmist, but one has to be aware that not all dogs are vaccinated, at least here in the U.S.
Best of luck!
I would be more worried about a tetanus jab for yourself than a rabies jab for the dog, especially in the UK, as we rarely have our dogs jabbed for it unless they are getting a pet passport to travel abroad.

Trouble with dogs is if they are intent on getting hold of another dog, they don't think about you being in the way.

Dog bites are very painful, I find the worse are on your fingers, I have ended up sitting up in bed holding my hand aloft to relieve the pain on the odd occasion that I have not moved quick enough to avoid the fangs!

Worst bite i ever had (up to now!) was from a rottie, total mistake from him, it wasnt meant for me, my thigh got in the way. It went black and i still have the teeth mark scars 3yrs on
