Thanks for the very interesting site.
The booklet information that came with CD varies the account. This is suposedly the promoters version in an interview. "I was cutting Huey Smiths band,with vocalist Bobby Marchan on a Smith tune called 'sea cruise'.When Frankie Ford heard a dub,he became desperate for what he thought was a perfect song for him,so he offered to give up all royalties on it if he could cut it. At that time I was trying to launch new artists so I agreed" he goes on to say they overdubbed Frankies voice on the original Smith tracks. Their New Orleans distibutor brought a sound effect LP into studio and a studio engineer dubbed the steamship sounds straight from LP.
