Organic Beef In Britian Debate

Hopefully you all can settle a heated debate i've had with a friend. He says that in Britian the majority of people consume organic beef, not out of choice, but because, for most people it is cheaper than non-organic meat.

Is this true? Is it cheaper for the average Brit to buy organic beef than non?

If so, how come? It would make no economic sense from my understanding at the moment.

This is rubbish I'm afraid. Most beef on sale is not organic and the organic stuff carries a much heavier price tag as you would expect. I wish I could afford it more often!

No way. organic meat is so much more expensive i don't know anyone who buys it.

It is much more expensive in my experience, but worth every penny for an occasional treat.

Any organic produce is more expensive, snowy owl is right though worth it for a treat if you can't buy all the time. Just find a good local butcher, it might not always be organic, but at least you will know where it came from. Who knows what you are buying or the country of origin in a supermarket. Bernard Matthews? I rest my case...
