I now have a policy added on to my house and contents policy with NFU. Half the price and twice as good. I had a claim on the first trip I took and they paid up really quickly AND you get to speak to real people. Not sure if they do stand alone policies though.
I always book online with this company.

Fortunately I've never had to claim so I don't know how good they are then.

We got ours at www.insureandgo.co.uk
111 Worldwide for both of us, but be careful. Lots of online insurers don't tell you things like cruises may not be insured, or that you can't have holiday longer than 14 days, so it is usually a good idea to e mail them to check your planned holiday is covered.
