hi there when is it the best time to lay a lawn in the backgarden cheers

Hi por, I think the spring is the best time with the autumn a close second.
If you can get a nice early start in the spring, hopefully it will start to get established before the summer comes when drying out can be a real problem. Good luck Tbird+

thanks for your answer i will put it on the ever growing list
around may/june is the best time, as the weather needs to be mild but clear, this way you can allow the turf to root properly before summer sets in, always water you fresh turf regurlarly to prevent it from dieing off.
I put mine down last easter.

Takee the time to get as much moisture retaining organic mix into the ground before hand. I strongly believe that this is thee trick.

Mine survived and thrived during the drought and looks a treat a year later.

Laying turf is hard work... be prepared and find a friend.
