I was always taught that lent started 6 weeks before easter and was representative of the 40 days and 40 nights Jesus spent in the wilderness and that the not eating meat on a Friday was becauase of his sacrifice on GOOD FRIDAY when he gave his life. that is as simple as it always seemed to me, never needed to delve any deeper myself.
Yeah, as above. Christ spent 40 days and 40 nights in the desert and he diddn't get a pancake before he left. While he was out there, suffering from starvation and heat strokehis true father told him of his true purpose upon the Earth. Thus, every Lent we must emulate the starvation of our lord and let this serve as a penance to God!
Personnally I'm a Pagan And think that we still don't have closure on the inquesition so ******** to the lot ot you!
Sorry, thay was probably too much' I do appologise .

i love your ironic statement, 1st you call christ "our lord" then you call yourself a pagan.
