wiring bathroom extractor fan
4 Answers
i am wiring my extractor fan to the lighting circuit so it comes on with the bathroom light.it was wired into my shower switch but this is now illegal.
my question relates to the wiring- there is 1 red wire and separate twin and earth coming from the 2 small white fused control boxes which are connected to the actual fan.i have cut the wiring to the b/room light with a view to reconnecting using a junction box, however i need to know where the fan wiring gets connected inside this box.i have tried various ways with no success.i thought i would be able to feed off the live feed straight to the fan but no luck.please help...

I guess my first question is why are you changing something that works? Even if there are new regulations on this wiring arrangement, they only affect new and refitted wiring. All older applications in homes are generally "grandfathered" in.
