have just come across some great tracks from this era,Love and Money,Hipsway just to name a few.Brings back brilliant memories of the that time in Glasgow ,nothing beats the memories, what do you think?
oh, where did you find the music, boxerboy? I would love to hear that stuff again.
I remember going to see Love and Money at the barrowlands ( I think )even though I must have been only about 14 and loving it. 'You're Beautiful' is still one of my favourite songs. I think I played that album and the Hipsway one until the vinyl gave up.
I used to get the same train as Douglas from the BMX Bandits and every time I saw him I would start humming their songs - luckily he never heard me, i would have been mortified!
Thanks for bringing back some happy memories. x
It was a mate of mine that gave me some old tapes.I've since downloaded ftom limewire.I had to mention it as those bands were superb and the memories it brings back of Napoleons,South Side,Tin Pan Alley,The Village in Shawlands, absolutely brilliant .......bring it back, good to see someone else recognises quality
How about The Big Dish ,Hue and Cry, The Blue Nile etc etc etc...... Yes the west of Scotland saved the 80s from mediocrity. And we havn't done too badly more recently either.
god how i love Hipsway, been to see Hue and Cry loads
fav gig was Del Amitri at the Barrowlands
scottish music is brilliant but i am Glaswegian so
maybe a bit biased lol

ps. the village in Shawlands what a blast from the past
with the watered down vodka etc lol
