I had my first car crash yesterday where a 19yr old driver pulled out from a street onto a main road which I was driving down(I had right of way). I am not sure how the whole procedure works. I have contacted my insurance company and told them what happened and also told the police. Police did not attend the scene. This happened in Manchester and I live in suffolk.Woke up this morning with a really bad neck and head ache wit pains in my chest and going to a&e shortly. Could someone let me know what really happens now as there was no witnesses! Thanks you very much in advance looking for views and experience etc etc! Thanks greatly!
your insurance company, should take care of all the paperwork, but it could depend on your cover, are you fully comp, did you take the legal protection option, etc,go to a & e and tell them what happened, also go to your doctor on monday and register your whiplash with him, lets hope the other driver is insured, did you get his details, you should have taken some photos on your mobile, still, you should be ok.
Contact the police asap and tell them you had an accident and now suffering an injury.
At this stage they should get involved and take a statement from you and investigate the other driver.
Make sure you get a certificate from the hospital saying you have been injured due to a road traffic accident.
the doctor will not give you a certicate, but if you report to him, when the insurance write to him,he can fill out the form, with all the details of your injury, the police will not get involved, unless you are seriously hurt.
