any homemade wine buffs out there?

Hi I've just started making some raspberry wine. I have 22lbs of rasps and had frozen them. I was just defrosting them in a 5 gall bin and chucked in 4 crushed campden tablets. I left this for a couple of hours forgetting to mix the powder in, and to my horror the campden powder has turned a fair proportion of the berries white. Any idea as to whether or not this has ruined the whole batch? Thanks

Campden tablets contain sodium metabisulphite. In water they produce sulphur dioxide which acts as a bleach. You have not ruined the berries as far as winemaking is concerned but reduced the intensity of the colour of the finished wine.

Thanks for that Gef I was actually wondering if rasps are prone to losing their colour too when they have been frozen and then thaw?
