When obtaining evidence of identity for anti-money laundering purposes, is there a rule against taking colour copies of a passport and what is the authority for such a rule?

Original documents are required to prove identity not photocopies. The organisation wil usually take a copy for their files.

And there is no rule against those copies being in colour so far as you are aware?

There is no rule. What difference does it make whether they are in colour or not anyway?
