This is a genuine request. I've heard this murdered man described as a Vicar,a Priest, Father, Married. What demonitation does he belong to and is the word Father used by others than Catholics please .
Looking through the paper and reading this horrific story my guess would be an Anglican, as Archdeacons and vicars are mentioned, but if so, then it would be the very High church where the priest is often called Father. More like Catholic with incense and the confessional box.
No, he is an Anglican, but as I said he was High Church, or Anglo-Catholic.
That means he was ordained into the Anglican church, but veered towards the Catholic tradition, so Father would have been his correct title. Vicar and Priest are generic terms and also correct.
