I know that Dan Dare was created in the 50's, but I had an annual (which I lent to someone and never got back!) In that, there was a page of biographies about each character and I was amazed that Dan Dare was yet to be born. I'm certain it was 1967, but not sure about Manchester. Sorry to be a pedantic nerd.
