blood sugar level!
10 Answers
I have a daily battle with my blood sugar levels,
I have tried having jacket potato, salad, rolls, sandwiches, pretty much everything for lunch while im at work.
But everyday around 1/2 hr to an hour after lunch, i get into such a bad state, my eyes roll back & im slurring my speech. i cant physically keep my head off my desk when im trying to work.
I have been to the drs, and he said to try more pasta/potato stuff, which i have done, but im still really struggling.
My bosses & the women i work with know, but it is still so hard, its not just like normal tiredness, i can deal with that, but its not knowing what is going on & what im doing, after & hour or so, im fine again!
Can anyone help?

I always have cheese with my lunch, whatever i have, with a roll which i have been having most these days, i have ham & salad aswell.
I cant stand bananas, so that i will have to work on!
I used to have it alot at my old work were i normally had a salad plate with cheese, ham, coleslaw, salad and all that sort of stuff.
The main problem i have is im wheat intolerant, so when i do have a roll or something with a good filling, i spend most of the afternoon on the loo ill!

ive never monitored my blood sugar levels,
I dont eat breakfast, i never have done, but that never caused my problems before.
Because of my lack of appetite these days, i can only eat 1 meal a day, and that is normally lunch.
I dont have any problems if i dont eat lunch, and wait until dinner, but because i dont snack on things, it means i go 24 hours between eating, & my partner is getting worried.

are you a diabetic, or are you just assuming these are blood sugar related? if you dont check your blood sugars i would have to assume you are not a diabetic? healthy people shoulkd not have such dramatic fluctuations that it would cause what you describe (after all that is the job of the pancreas), so if you havent been diagnosed, get tested now! if your blood sugars are ok, it might be something else. Try a chocolate hobnob with your lunch ... chocolate for the quick sugar fix and oats for the longer term
hey bedknobs, i went to the drs and he said it was my sugar levels,
I always keep coke & chocolate in my drawer at work and so does my boss just in case, but when i have a funny turn as they are known to me & people i know, drinking coke & eating sugar does nothing for me, it just leaves me feeling bloated & sick along with a stomach ache & the problems i described above!

I agree with bednobs wiggal. Have you been diagnosed as diabetic ? Maybe you're pre diabetic which means borderline. If you have'nt seen your gp please do and meanwhile, eat little and often to keep your glucose level's up. Im due for a "pre diabeties" test. I have to go the the hospital after fasting over night, drink a very sugary drink made up by the hossie then wait for 2 hours for the result's! Some surgerie's do this though.
