disc cleanup

Is it wise to 'compress files to save space' after a disc cleanup? I read that the time taken to uncompress them later if they are needed might cause problems .Thing is i could do with the space

Not wise to compress ALL files, no, as it does slow the machine down.

If you have some files you don't access very often EG old pictures, WP documents, music, then go ahead and compress those.

Basically never compress anything under C:\WINDOWS or you'll really slow your system down.
