Does it literally smell of garlic, cos me and me sister swear blind we can detect that aroma whilst out walking the dogs by the hedgerows ?

Peppy, yes it does have a kind of garlicy smell, reminds me more of spring onions though.
It's a member of the mustard family as the name suggests and has white flowers in may and growing at the base of a hedge is it's favourite spot.
It can be chopped up and added to salads.
