I read a book a little while a go about a child (can't remember if it was a boy or a girl) who escaped from a concentration camp, they then had to cross Germany to get to where their mother lived (can't remember which country!) There was a bit when he/she saved another child from a fire, he/she then lived with the child's family for a couple of days and it's possible that the family helped him/her to get back to his/her mother. There was also a bit when he/she saw a church and thought it was very beautiful. It was a very good book, I think it was actually aimed at teenagers. Any thoughts on what it could have been would be brilliant!
