how will Life On Mars end?

Before this second series of Life On Mars began, there were many theories as to what would happen (even on AB) yet we've already had 5 of the 6 episodes (I think) and we're still not really any the wiser as to Sam Tyler's true state, are we? So how do you think it will conclude?

i have a theory!!!!

i think the girl detective is his girlfriend in the future and he is falling back in love with her, i beleive its all a dream and all the characters are either people he works with now or his friends and family!!

I don't know how it will end, but I've heard there's talk of a Gene Hunt spin-off series.
