I have been thin my whole life and within the last year I have put on 15 pounds. I would love to loose 15 pounds so I could be at my normal weight again but I find it hard to work out because I have Scoliosis and I have a rode in my spine and 2 other curves that the doctors can't fix. It seems that everytime I work out, lift anything or more the wronge way my sciatic never acts up and I get sharp pains in my lower back that travel down my hips to my legs and feet. Any suggestions on what I could to loose these 15 pounds without being in severe pain afterwards?

The link that bigeye74 gave you is really good i just had a quick look.
How about asking a Physio for some advice on activtys to do. they would be able to suggest exercises that would manage the symptoms you experiance and might be able to suggest something that would help you loose a little bit of weight.
Hope you find something. Melons

hi alc, i have suffered from a bad back and trapped nerves for years and have slight scoliosis in the last 2 months the trapped nerves have been really awful and i have been on about 6 different painkillers when i finally got to see the physio 3 weeks ago and she gave me core exercises kind of like pelvic floor exercises where you have to tighten your lower tummy before trying any other movement, a kind of nice one was to lay flat and tighten up then with bent knees lower and raise each leg keeping your tummy tight working on not wobbling when you bring your knee back up, another is to lay on your side feet together and raise your knee up this strengthens your outer hips
as long as you remember to keep your core muscles tense when trying any lower body movement it does ease or stop the pain
it has worked for me hope you find this helpful sweetie i know what pain you are in and good luck loosing your stone x :-)
