speeding fine
husband received a fine - sp30 - duly paid it - got cheque sent back stating that payment was not accepted and to await a court date ... this was nearly 6 months ago. does this still stand as he said he was told it wouldn't uphold after 6 months?

That was in 2003 and I'm still waiting. As a general rule, proceedings should be laid before the magistrates within 6 months. This is not true for every offence. Leave it and see what happens, if anything.
