I have 2 different chopping boards, one for chicken and one for everything else. I dont have a dishwasher so just wash them by hand, but i keep wondering if i'm washing it enough to get rid of all the chicken-ness that could make people ill?
What would be best to wash it with? At the minute i use antibacterial fairy liquid and as hot water as i can bear (sometimes i soak it in just boiled water)
I agree with Ethel that you're worrying too much. Simply scrub such boards thoroughly with a nail brush and ordinary washing up liquid after each use. And keep them in a dry place. No problem.
People are getting obsessional about anti-bacterial this that and the other. If you just wash things in hot soapy water you'll be fine. Why do you have a board just for chicken???????
as long as any food you prepare on this board is throughly cooked you should have no problem. Some boards actualy are made with antibacterial properties and should be avaliable in most cookery shops. Silver has been proven to kill bacteria but this would be a lavish material to use for a chopping board.
