Homepage set up
Every time I log onto the internet, my homepage, which used to be Google has been overtaken by "eprotect", try as I might, I can't get rid of it. I have tried "Add/Remove" and it does recognise this setting. When downloading it is shown as a proxy setting. It's driving us mad, any ideas. Many thanks in advance.

START>RUN type REGEDIT, press ENTER then scroll to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\MAIN then in the right-hand pane right-click START PAGE and modify the entry to read www.google.co.uk (assuming that it is Google that you want to be your home page)
Then repeat the procedure for the corresponding key in HKEY_USERS

Once you have fixed this problem download and run a program called WinPatrol (it is free).
It tells you if anyone is trying to change your home page, also if any programs are being installed without your knowledge (you can say no).
It also keeps track of other things that are going on with your PC.
You can get it from here
