I have a new Vaio Sony laptop with Vista. Shortly after getting it I installed Real Player and it seemed to mess everything up and I read that it might not be compatible with Vista yet and so I uninstalled it. Now I play everything on Windows Media Player i.e. CD's and MP3s that I make by recording my voice (I do voiceovers sometimes) but if I go to a website which has audio and has a choice to listen either on Real Player or select MP3, I select MP3 and nothing happens. When I go to my other computer and test it, it plays fine on Media Player so the clip I am trying to listen to is obviously able to play on Media Player but why won't it play and yet it works fine on CD's and my own recordings????

Oh its OK I have sorted it out ... if anyone else has the same problem it was because I did not have the box for Windows Media Player ticked in exceptions in the Windows Firewall.
