what is the best exercise apart from jogging, at the gym to slim down legs and thighs? i regularly go on the cross trainer, but wondering whether the bike is a better idea. i do half hr on the cross trainer going uphill on a decent level (im out of breath and sweating), then i do the bike for another half hr uphill, but cant seem to slim down the legs. Any ideas?!

I bought a leg master https://secure.beasone.com/legmaster/index.php which is supposed to trim your legs and buttocks. You only have to use it for a few minutes a day to get results (apparently). I would love to say I now have beautiful slender legs but I can't use mine because I have injured myself when out running!

sorry link didn't post correctly - hopefully this will
What do you mean by slim down your legs? Any form of exercise has the potential to increase muscle mass thus making your legs look bigger.
An overall weight loss would result in excess fat being lost from the legs but not specifically.
If you increase the size of your calf muscle it will make your ankles look slimmer.
You don't seem to be afraid of hard work in the gym but how often are you training and how long have you been training?

Problem is i work nights, so my gym routines can be erratic, sometimes 3 times a week, for an hr at cardio, sometimes more times a week. Think i may always have big legs! they wobble and id like to tone them!

Thanks birdwoman, that legmaster looks quite good, although im quite dubious with all these new fangled machines on the market. I did go to a total tone class at the gym last week and i was aching all over after! maybe that once a week would be a good idea on top of what im doing now
Pretty much most peoples legs wobble if they aren't tensed. Why is jogging a no-no? If your gym has a stepper, get on that and use big or deep steps so your knees really bend. You should feel a burn in your thighs and calves then. It sounds like you may be working too hard on your cardio and may benefit from less intensity (but same length of time) to improve your fitness. Total Tone class sounds good, a short (15-20 mins) VERY easy stint on a rowing machine the following day should ease the ache.

Joggings not really a no-no but i find the treadmill so boring, and feel a bit dizzy when i get off. Thanks for the advice
i want to slim my legs too!!and people have commented on how much weight iv lost recently .. but my legs have stayed the same! its a nightmare! i think maybe its just my build!?
