Does anyone have an idea of how hard it is to replace a powerfuse in a nikon 8700 ? I sent it for repair and the quote is crazy . How hard can it be ? I hate to pay 4 times the cost of the spare part - its robbery !

How much was the quote? Having been an engineer, and having worked in computers since the late 70s, I personally wouldn't fancy dismantling and reassembling a high spec. digital camera at home. From what I can gather, the fuse is located on the printed circuit board of the PSU.
