removing progs from start up
1 Answers
Helping my husband with his PC this am I was trying to remove skype which is not on control panel list I thought I had already removed it anyway but the icon is still there as 'offline' but we do not use. Also we are pleased with open office and use instead of word etc but there is a quickstart icon which I assume is adding to the slowness of the whole PC but I can't see how to take this off just leaving it in the main programme list. Also he has Adobe acrobat 5 - should I be able to update this without charge?
many thanks for any help

The quickstart program is probably in start menu/programs/startup. Just remove it from there.
Adobe now have called it adobe reader. Just google for it, and download the latest (8?); it's free.
