restrictions on what can be taken in hand baggage on European aircraft
Has anyone the latest info on what can be taken on board in hand baggage? I have always brought back a couple of bottles of liquor in the past. Can this be done now or, is it barred?

Even if you buy liquid (including perfume) in the duty free (airside) area at your initial departure point, if you subsequently pass through another european airport to go onto a second flight (e.g Lisbon to Newcastle via Gatwick) then you would likely lose any/everything above 100ml in size at security at the intermediate airport (e.g. Gatwick).
