In June 2000 I got a joint mortgage with my then partner. She left in Jan 2001 and stopped paying towards the repayments. I have since paid the repayments and she won't agree to an offer to transfer her share.
She also obtained another joint mortgage in 2002 with her new partner, would she be saying that she has no intrest in the old property by getting a new one?, would if she didn't declaire any details on her new mortgage be breaking the law and would this help me in court?
I know the property law says that its a 50/50 split but surely after six years of walking away, how would a 50/50 split be fair even in the eyes of the law has she has not contributed and deserted it.

Also, I don't really know the legalities of being on 2 mortgages, but when I went out with a separated woman, I was going to add her to mine but couldn't because they were in arrears on theirs. As it turned out that was good for me but...
