Gatwick - Stansted transfer

I am wanting to use Stansted airport for internal flights but land either at Gatwick or Heathrow can you advise me of the ease of cnnnecting through.

Ease? Gatwick is well south of London and Stansted is well north, they're about 70 miles apart by motorway, there is no direct train.

Best bet for ease seems to be National Express bus No. 717/727/797 to Heathrow & Stansted Airport; the journey to Heathrow takes about 1h15 and to Stansted takes 3h15, but estimated times differ depending on time of day of journey -see the NE website to plan the journey - http://www.nationalexpress.com

I don't know what internal flights go from Stansted that do not go from Heathrow of Gatwick. I think this transfer is to be avoided; if the incoming plane is late, or baggage retrieval delayed and you miss your bus, or there is a holdup on the motorway you could easily miss your connection.

Alternatively get the train into London, there are fast services from both Gatwick & Heathrow, use the tube to get to Liverpool St and get the Stansted Express from there.

Get Thameslink from Gatwick to Farringdon (41 minutes)

Change to Met/Circle line to Liverpool St (3 stops)

Get Express to Stansted (45 mins).
