I don't like Eddie Izzard or Billy Connelly.

Ricky Gervais, Peter Kay and Jimmy Carr are great. I also love Alan Carr (I just have to look at him to find him funny)

You just can't beat Richard Prior though - he was the best (i know he's American before anyone says, but definately the best)

I dont get Eddie Izzard though, never have found him funny, love Jack Dee but Peter Kay is my number 1, probably followed by Lee Evans!

Pippa, there was a "top 100 stand up comedians list", which is what we are referring to. Not comedy people on tv like the two ronnies etc, but yes, the two ronnies and morcombe and wise are the best at tv sketch shows.

I know manning isn't just about racism... but i find him vulgar and unfunny... like chubby brown.
I prefer izzard, or bremner... they are at least intellectual comedians.
Yes, connelly may be a bums and farts comedians, but as the chap said... it is all about delivery. He could make a thimble funny... and that takes real skill.
Oh, and his travel programs are excellent lol

I have always liked Connelly, briliant actor as well - Mrs Brown ! Bernard Manning is a horrible man, very arrogant and disgusting ! Tommy Cooper was the best, along with Jimmy Tarbuck, Norman Wisdom and Joan Rivers ! I did see an old concert from 70's with Richard Pryor and he was very, very funny !!!

I know that I've come to this a bit late but as for stand up comedians I also discovered Chic Murray too late (he was already dead before I'd heard of him)
