Weeping Figs & Maidenhair Ferns
2 Answers
Can someone please help me with my "GreenFingers".
Firstly I have had many weeping figs, (Ficus Benjamina).
But I always have a problem with leaf drop, why?
Also Maidenhair Ferns, mine always go "cripsy",
despite endless humidifying.

However, if it is healthy growth that is dropping the most likely causes are lack of light, they like a position near rather than under a window or if it is being shifted from one place to another regularly. As to the Maidenhair fern, it is still probably dry air if it is in a centrally heated room. You could try putting the pot into a waterproof container full of moist compost so there is constant humidity around the plant or try group planting, which raises the humidity of the air between the plants. Over feeding does something similar but is usually accompanied by brown spots as well.
