Yup, PS3 is region free.
HDMI has some protection thing built in but don't think it would effect it?
PS3 Imports (games and consoles) have been in the UK since the US/Japan release so think it would work?
But I not 100% sure now!
Sony have said all of their titles will be region free but they can't stop other publishers from enforcing region coding (much like the 360).
I agree with Llamatron, I have heard reports that EA will not let their games be regeon free.
We tried Play Asia for supply but they say they are prohibited by agreement from sending to the UK so a bit of a conundrum really. Hubby in Singapore last week ,disappointingly - little PS3 on offer anywhere easily avaliable to him.
Mr Sense brought back Ridgeracer 7 from New York yesterday ,and it works just fine in our UK purchased PS3.
