Whats this program called???

I'd be really grateful if anyone could tell me the name of the tv program with the chap who played Rab C Nesbit in. It was based around a fishing village I think where the Rab C Nesbitt bloke ran a little fishing boat. I think the boat was steam powered but I can't be sure.

It was a fairly easy going, easy to watch program that was originally on BBC, ITV or Channel 4 about 5 - 15 years ago.

You are probably thinking of The Tales of Para Handy, in which Gregor Fisher played the captain of a Clyde puffer. (A type of steamboat.) You'll find details if you input Para Handy on Google.

One of my favourite all time programmes. I am fortunate enough to have The Tales of Para Handy, and the forerunner The Vital Spark, on dvd.

One of the programmes you never see repeated which was pure enjoyment. I remember the ship being the"Vital Spark" and there was an early film version with Frazer Hines of Dad's Army fame in it.
