Just started NVQ 3 in engineering - an upgrade of skills from my employer - didn't realise it was such an irelevant paper chase. Are all NVQ's like this or just some subjects?
I am an assessor of NVQ in Administration, and believe me it is embarrasing for me to explain to my candidates how their NVQ will be achieved. The paper-work just goes on and on and on, and at the end of my first session with my new trainees their eyes are glazing over and I think they think I am from another planet.
I can see why they are so repetative, they try and cover so much, I teach and assess on several. We have recently introduced VQ testing Now that is seriously cruel.
They need to produce quantative data that can be compared with other institutions to "maintain the standard"
I would love to be involved in writing a unit, I could make it so much more realistic and actually interesting, I would even chuck in proof reading!
