shoulder impingement steroid injection
6 Answers
Hello
I have had shoulder pain/stiffness for the past year. I've tried an osteopath/physio & accupuncture without any relief. My doctor has diagnosed shoulder impingement & has suggested that a steroid injection may help. I'm put off having one as I've heard they are very painful & I've yet to hear of anybody that it has actually helped!
Can anybody out there give me any information on the subject please
Christine

I had injections in my sacro-illiac (pelvis) joints, and all that did was put me on my back for a week. At the hospital, all they could tell me was that they may work, they may not. If they did work, it may last for 3 weeks, 3 months; they couldn't say. I have to say I would not have them again.
I had loads of physiotherapy on an impinged shoulder, and it took a lot of time and work on my part, but eventualy, the pain subsided and I regained more or less normal use of it again. I was offered injections, but refused them.
Persevere, and good luck.

I had a terrible pain in my shoulder for months. The doctor said it was a frozen shoulder, then said it was Bursitis. Are they the same thing?
Anyway, I had 3 injections over a period of 4 months and I've finally got rid of the pain. I've got to have some physio now.
From the sound of it, injections didn't do much for anyone, but so far, I feel good! I knew that I would!

Hello all you guys who have taken the time to try to help me, thank you very much!!
I'm going to look at the question from Matheous as suggested by curlyperm to see if it's relevant.
May go to speak to my doc again, but I really think judging by all your reponses at some time this will just go away as myseriously as it started!! I hope so anyway
Thanks again & have a nice Easter weekend
