I've got the sims and have installed it, but when I try to play the game the loading screen comes up but when it's all loaded and is about to go into the game it just exits and goes back to the desktop. Anyone know why or how I can stop this please? It's a proper disk, not a copy, and it's not damaged.

it's actually just the sims triple deluxe ( which is the sims, the sims livin it up, the sims creator and the sims bonus material.) Thanks for the help though x
In your instruction book for it it tells you about shutting down any background things. These sometimes conflict with your install. They start back up when you restart computer.
Once i loaded making magic on to my computer i found that i had to close a lot of back ground tasks to get it to load.

Thankyou all. My only problem is that I don't know what's running in the background, how to find out or how to close it down. Does anyone know?
i know it sounds daft but i just experimented closing tasks until i knew which one on my computer needed to fun for the computer not to crash, it took a while but once sorted ment i could play. Sorry i cant remember which tho as i havent played in about 2 years

Where are these tasks running and how do you close them? I know what you're trying to say I just don't know how I'd close any tasks that are running.
