Scottish Tomatoes

Does anyone know if there are ANY commercialy grown tomatoes in existance here in Scotland ? My informed wife tells me they are now raised as 'Scottish' in Spain !

A quick bit of Googling suggests that commercial tomato growing is alive and strong in Scotland but you need to seek out your nearest farmer's market to buy them. For example, this page refers to two firms, John Hannah and J & M Craig:

Buenchico - Thank you for that -I never considered Googling for growers in Scotland owing to their apparent disappearance from the supermarket shelves.

I recently bought Scottish tomatoes from Tesco are these the ones you are referring to Hawkwalk?How can I find out if they are British?

I think being Scottish is still classed as British!!

Most supermarkets will state country of origin on the pack or label or on the side of the fruit box.

I think we have got our wires crossed Hawkwalk.Going back to the original question Matheous posted ,he said his wife informed him tomatoes grown in Spain are being called Scottish, so I presumed in your reply you meant that supermarkets are selling Spanish toms, 'as grown in Scotland' I obviously didn't explain properly,having one of my senior moments again!!
