British hostages freed

Has anyone else just read that the British hostages are now to be freed?! Although the Iranian President had this to say

"Unfortunately the British government was not even brave enough to tell their people the truth, that it made a mistake,"

Does anyone else agree this is disgusting?! What a manipulative uneducated nation.

Lets face it Iran cant even read the co ordinates of the sailors boat, let alone come up with a genuine reason as to why they held 15 British citizens hostage when they were carrying out a UN mandate....now that clearly backs up my 'manipulative and uneducated' statement

There are no fixed boundaries in the Gulf.They may or may not have been in Iranian national waters. It's the navy that needs educating: don't lurk along borders unless you have the whole fleet behind you, or you'll be severely embarrassed, as they have been.

If you don't know where the border is, stay very well away from it. Iraq and Iran have never agreed on a border. The usual rule is that sea borders are 12km out from the coast; but the place where this incident happened (whichever side you believe) is within 12km of both countries. So it's always going to be risky territory. In the event, they were taken in on suspicion of trespass, and released without charge. A propaganda victory for Tehran, egg on the face for London.

Isnt it strange that when the hostages went on Iran Tv, (according to the British press), they where forced and humalited, but as soon as they arrived back in the UK and gave a 'press conference' they 'where telling the nation' about there ordeal ! The press carnt have it both ways
