Guinness-Flavoured Marmite

You might have missed out. Our local Tesco has none left. Apparently it's selling on eBay at inflated prices! It's made with some Guinness brewers yeast in it. So what's the difference between that and other brewers yeast? Not a lot, I reckon.

Its great, I love it! Its got a smoother taste and not as salty as the regular Marmite. It was originally produced just to coincide with St Patricks Day. Althogh it sold out very quickly and people were selling on Ebay, I hear that more is been produced and will be in your local Tesco very soon.

Guinness used to make a yeast extract spread similar to Marmite in Ireland. It was discontinued in the 1950s.

The special edition 'Guinness Marmite' was released for St. Pats day. The made 300,000 jars which apparently sold extremely fast. More is to be made.

I haven't found any, but I'm sure I will like it when I do.

Mmmm! I'll try it when I see it, but it sounds pretty ghastly to me. I wonder how people would react to Marmite flavoured Guinness.

I bought some intending to sell on ebay but my husband opened the jar and spread it on his toast, but quite honestly I can hardly tell any difference in the taste.

Having checked out the ebay site, it looks as though most people who bought one of the jars bought to sell on! I got three jars and gave one to a friend. Haven't tasted yet...

It doesn't even taste much like guiness!
It tastes a bit... like metal O_o

It was on sale in a local morrisons (birmingham area) loads of jars so they might be worth a try.

I'm pretty chuffed as I got a mate from Liverpool to get me two jars for when I visit next month... He got it from Morrisons.

Finally tracked some down. It is very similar in taste to regular marmite, but slightly 'milder'. Still good though.
