receiving e-mails when abroad
I am going to the USA soon and want to be able to get my e-mails while I am there. I do not have internet access at the place I am staying, but can download a programme to give me free dial up access. I don't know then how to get my e-mails. Usually they come from the server into my outlook programme but I know that will not work because the internet provider in the US and the one here are different. Any suggestions welcome. My internet server here is provided by my employer.

Open a gmail email account
https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount?service=mail&t=330e6c78-47fc9798-dd1c75a607e13f0cdc88&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2Fmail%2Fe-11-10530271fb0badb0eeb3586cf8f6f943-6874e426480d9dd472fe4d7995c94dcb65cadd56&type=2&gd=1
This is web based and can be accessed from any computer in the world.
Now you have choices - you can use your gmail account instead of outlook to collect your mail (I found this very easy to set up) or set your emails to automatically forward to your new gmail account.
While in America it will be far simpler for you to use an internet cafe, if you do not have a wifi enabled laptop.
