Racoon Dogs in UK?

I heard from someone today that there are racoon dogs in the UK. Where do they originate and why are they wild in the UK?

I am sure you have tried this already but if not, you might find it interesting. It suggests that they have been found in France and Italy but doesn't seem to mention the UK.
