Hi there, I would like to know the best way of travelling into London. I got to travel from Churchdown in Cheltenham, GL3 2PP to St Mary Abbots Church Hall, Vicarige gate, London W8 4HW. The nearest tube is Kensington High Street. I would like to travel by car, park close to a tube point and travel in via tube to write my exam. Could you please advise me on the best way to travel. I write in 1 months time.
Hillingdon station has 299 car parking spaces & a max. charge of 3-50, it's located just beyond the london end of the M40 (near uxbridge) and is signposted off the A40. from there, metropolitan line to baker street & then circle line to high street ken.
Why not get a train from Cheltenham into Paddington and then the Circle Line round to HSKen which is about 3 stops. You would arrive more relaxed and gives you time ro trad/revise rather than concentrating on driving?
The train from Gloucester would be better than Cheltenham but unless you get an apex ticket it is mega expensive from either.
Another suggestion would be to get the London coach(from Cheltenham this time...) and get off at Earls Court from where it's one stop on the tube to KHSt. A lot cheaper and not a lot slower.
you could drive to northolt, just off the A40. park there for free then tube it into notting hill gate which is a short walk to your destination.
there are a few roads near the stn at northolt which are free.
alternatively, ruislip gardens has free parking around it.
if you use 'multimap' to look up where you are going you can print off the map.
also , consider an 'oyster card' for bus and tube travel as this is a lot cheaper than buying a ticket on the day. not sure how it works but i'm sure googling it will tell you.
