If the tail of a dog was called a leg, how many
legs would a dog have?

(This puzzle is accredited to Abraham Lincoln).

The dog would have four legs - as Lincoln explained, calling a tail a leg does not make it one...

grasscarp, that was quick!

Maybe we've got the same book?
Must admit no book - just looked on internet as I was interested to know myself.
Q. Which has more legs, a dog or no dog?

A. No dog . . . . (because no dog has 5 legs, whereas a dog only has 4, or possibly less)
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings regarding five legged dogs...

Well !! Talk about ask a silly question.

I had no idea that such responses would be
forthcoming to what was really just a little
puzzle that I found amusing.

Just shows what the Answer Bank is all about.

I can't help wondering, scotchollie, how you found
the five-legged dog story. It seems to have had a
happy ending.

Thanks to one and all, take three stars each.
