Has anyone else noticed the increasing over-use of the above phrase? It seems particularly popular when a situation is less than good. Is it the most annoying current phrase, or is it just me...?
I hate it when film trailers have a voiceover saying, "coming to cinemas/theatres April twelve," or "June sixteen." Whatever happened to "twelfth" or "sixteenth"? But by far the worst, I'm afraid, is "24/7." Apologies to anyone who uses that expression, but NOTHING makes me more mad, more quickly these days. (And I have children, who are really good at doing just that - they don't even come close in comparison!)
