Possibly Aratrum the greek word for a plough ... but don't see how that completely fits clue either?

Anadrom (a fish), Anagram and Aratrum which you mention both fit the check letters.

My preference is for anagram as this at least fits the "reconstructing" part of the clue.

It's got to be anagram.

With the Masters golf still in mind I have been toying with 'Amen' corner and cutting 'Angle' (also a corner)! I think I better go and lie down!

I've been watching recorded highlights of the ODI between Australia and Ireland - a match which Ireland would prefer to forget.

This is not a difficult crossword, the rest of the clues presenting little difficulty. So I am surprised that the normal way of clueing "anagram" Nag/ Ram or Agra has not been used.

The answers to clues leading to the check letters (A?A?A?M) seem to be bulletproof.

Turning to the word relation, this might be "ana", but this leaves "gram" to account for.

I then thought of niches and neices, but this doesn't work either.
