I've killed my mobile phone !!

What am I to do, I dropped it in a glass of water and now my ringtone ( Mika, Grace Kelly ) is reduced to a tiny hiss and none of the buttons work.
Plus, the date has gone back to 06 / 01 / 1980, did we even HAVE mobeys then ??
I can't get any of my bluetooth stuff out ( I had a picture of a duck crossing the road smack bang in the middle of Cambridge followed by 8 ducklings, and then all the traffic stood waiting for them to get to safety ) To mention just one.
I'm gutted, any words of comfort ? x x

i would switch it off, take the battery out , and wipe it with a dry cloth

Sorry peppy, I meant to answer your question before responding to Whiffey's.

After removing the battery and wiping out as much water as you can, try using a blow dryer on it a bit or put it in a very warm place. Consult the place of purchase, maybe you could trade it in for another.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news peppy but a liquid damaged mobile phone is usually irrerpairable it looks like a trip down to the mobile phone warehouse im afraid.

iv done this a couple of times and it took a couple of days to dry out and was fine again

This is my biggest fear and can i say it FFS adn WTF, OMG, i just did! !!!!!!!!!!! every time i take mine in the bath with me im terrified he might jump in because i abuse him!
poor you!!!! Maybe it will dry out in a few days, at least some sound is still coming out of it so where theres life theres hope. Good luck my thoughts are with you..
