I told them to apply cold water immediately to the stains on a light grey carpet but they said they had a better idea. They got a wet sponge and then dampened the stains with cold water and then put a good helping of salt over each spot and left it for a while - you could actually see the blood rising to the top of the salt mound. They then washed the area with some mild/soapy warm water and the stain was gone. You can also buy Stain Devils (Blood and Milk removal fluid) which cost around a couple of quid from Woolworths or some other outlet. It's in the a little red bottle but should really be used within 48 hours. Stain Devils have a collection different types of stain devil all specially formulated for different stains. It worth stocking up on them ike I did. Hope this helps.
Baby wipes!!!!! for any stain, although most effective on a new stain.
i have a cream carpet and got blood on it - seconds of gentle rubbing with a baby wipe cleared all visible traces (unless someone shines ultra violet light on it, as you can never completely get rid of blood stains!).
Kind of scary that we use these on our babies bums, when you see the stains they lift!!!
